NBC News and MSNBC had to issue major corrections to their “feds wiretapped Trump attorney Michael Cohen” story after that turned out to be untrue, and New York Magazine’s DC correspondent is concerned… that Trump will use that as further validation for his “fake news” accusations:
It's a shame that the White House and its allies are going to attempt to use NBC's correction to support their narrative about fake news, when admitting to and quickly correcting a mistake is what you do only when you care about facts and honesty.

It’s actually a “shame” the mainstream media again didn’t know a story was true before publishing it, but for some obviously the real downside is that Trump’s slams on the media’s honesty and accuracy have been again proven justified.

It’s such a predictable approach.
4 hours is quickly? And no full retraction, just an " editors note"? Give it a rest, sweetie…your desperation is showing.

Hello "Journalist" Who Breaks Into People's Houses,
When was the last time the media had to issue a massive correction on a story that was potentially harmful to a Democrat?
You can't think of one because these "mistakes" seem to only happen when a Republican is involved. https://t.co/V0F9Kjh62u

when you care about facts and honesty you make sure the story is correct before publishing such extreme accusations https://t.co/FjgS3ry6x1

These false stories have been coming daily for two years, but Olivia has a narrative to push. https://t.co/YA490Ga4qb

Media has repeatedly made awful mistakes due to a rush to print. It's a good thing they corrected, but it's not something that deserves excessive praise.
WH will seize on it to dismiss legit stories, but that's why mistakes are so harmful & maintaining credibility so important. https://t.co/kHkuJTN0kY

NBC News and Nuzzi lost Piers Morgan over this one:
It's more of a shame that NBC got such a big story wrong, surely?
US Media has to stop gifting Trump these 'fake news' scalps. https://t.co/qfIdNlp8ON— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) May 3, 2018
A little introspection on the part of the media might do them some good, but that’s not likely to happen.
