It’s looking more and more like the FISA memo will be released to the public in the coming hours or perhaps days, but NBC News’ Andrea Mitchell doesn’t seem as curious about the memo’s contents as she is about the GOP’s justification for its release:
How will they justify releasing this memo? Intelligence community is on fire about what they say risks 40 years of congressional oversight of the agencies https://t.co/cbpVtsjVVb

Mitchell’s tweet was based on comments from MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, which were based on comments from Dem Rep. Adam Schiff:
"There is no longer a valid basis for the White House to review the altered document, since this new version is not the same document shared with the entire House and on which Committee Members voted" https://t.co/RynpDtcTLR

BREAKING: Discovered late tonight that Chairman Nunes made material changes to the memo he sent to White House – changes not approved by the Committee. White House therefore reviewing a document the Committee has not approved for release. pic.twitter.com/llhQK9L7l6

It’s nice for the Dems that they have a little mainstream media help pushing their narrative.
Journalism sure has changed from the Pentagon Papers days. https://t.co/XFNHmGkAWp

Sure has! Go figure.
I remember way back when yesterday you guys published all sorts of classified material illegally leaked. Now that classified material is being legally declassified to publicize you want no part of it. This is why we call you #FakeNews

Apparently the press only likes their information "leaked" from unverified sources rather than released openly from congress… I think it will be tough for them to sell their "democracy dies in dankness" byline with this kind of logic. https://t.co/fXHv0UjLtX

Looks like Mitchell is full of Schiff. https://t.co/xHka5g84hF

Andrea,
You should only be asking one question. What if everything in the memo is true.
Can you look yourself in the mirror and justify the cover you have provided people that may have used intelligence and law enforcement for partisan gain? https://t.co/T1FTU2EIet

“Real journalists” can be incredibly incurious when they really put their minds to it.
