I see someone has started making fundraising calls… https://t.co/eCJZDokxpz

With the 2016 election behind us, believe it or not there are candidates who already have their eyes on 2018. One of those candidates is Massachusetts Democrat Brianna Wu, whose primary challenge to incumbent Dem Rep. Stephen Lynch would be a lot easier if she had some mandatory assistance:
The further I get into my run for congress, the more convinced I am that we MUST have public financing of elections.

Public financing of campaigns would also help introverts run for office, or something:
2/ For starters, someone introverted would be miserable running for congress. That's a HUGE population whose values can't be represented.

3/ Secondly, people on the lower end of the economic spectrum don't have money to donate. So they can't support candidates they prefer.
— Brianna Wu (@BriannaWu) February 16, 2017
4/ Thirdly, an incumbent like Lynch can easily raise nearly unlimited money. That makes it hard for a populist candidate to challenge him.

5/ All these are reasons our election table is tilted to the hyper rich. It's something that desperately needs to change.

What could all this mean?

Good luck with all that.
We saw this play out in WI with the progressives. It'll be a good hard life lesson for her too.

Bernie Sanders raised millions… what's wrong with doing it on your own? Too hard? Cry us a river https://t.co/agpBzPg4zh
