During his speech last night at the Republican National Convention, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie went after Hillary Clinton aggressively, saying that as a former federal prosecutor he’d welcome the opportunity to be the one to finally hold Clinton accountable. Many in the crowd then started chanting “lock her up!”
Republican Sen. Jeff Flake didn’t like what he saw and heard:
.@HillaryClinton now belongs in prison? C'mon. We can make the case that she shouldn't be elected without jumping the shark.

Doesn’t the frustration about Hillary Clinton in this area really stem from the fact that she lives above the law?

But Flake’s claim that the GOP went too far with the anti-Hillary rhetoric got a thumbs-up from Hillary Clinton’s foreign policy spokesman:
Flake, like Kasich, has proven a voice of sanity & principle as Trump has hijacked the @gop https://t.co/uuv1g5MxQo

The Arizona senator also got plenty of journo love for his GOP convention criticism:

Sen Flake, I'm not sure the Republican Party has room for you anymore. See the Bush Family. https://t.co/TxkmH2MjMn

It doesn't seem THAT hard to be principled and decent like @JeffFlake. Maybe I'm naive. https://t.co/eyzrUMhd3D
