Last night’s Academy Awards, like many before it, was protected by heavily armed security. The NRA spotted some irony given the fact that many in attendance are among those who believe that guns don’t make people safer:

Shannon Watts of the Michael Bloomberg-funded Moms Demand Action group tried to school the NRA:

And the point is?

@shannonrwatts Does that mean you're OK with us carrying provided we have same BGC & training as them? #QuestionsShannonWontAnswer #gunsense

Watts’ attempted argument has officially backfired at this point.
So have law-abiding gun-owners, @shannonrwatts . Did the armed security you hired to harass me have training? One was printing, lol.

Funny, #gunsense works to ban licensed, trained people from carrying guns for self defense. https://t.co/5TtJAbxZJY

@shannonrwatts @NRA kind of like how people getting a conceal carry permit have background checks and training.

.@Hal_Maine their talking points book is big, she forgets sometimes. @shannonrwatts @NRA

@shannonrwatts @NRA @cliffschecter They never let facts get in the way of a talking point.
