And who knows more about shrugging off history, not to mention reality, than Susan Rice?
Today’s flag-raising underscores we will not be held back by history. Engagement is key to facing 21st century challenges @USEmbCuba #Cuba

John Kerry took a similar tone during the ceremony to re-open the U.S. Embassy in Havana, Cuba:
"We are gathered here because our leaders made a courageous decision to stop being prisoners of history." #USCuba http://t.co/Gsn5SJc9Xd

“Our leaders made a courageous decision.” Humble, isn’t he? That “courageous decision” is to put history aside for the sake of an administration’s legacy, but they’ve had practice at it with Iran.
Cuban dissidents were not invited to today’s ceremony. Apparently they’re too held back by history for this administration’s liking.
@AmbassadorRice @USEmbCuba I guess government abusing, jailing, and murdering their citizens isn't a 21st century challenge.

Guess not.
Nothing says 'freedom from history' like a deal with the Castro brothers. https://t.co/yMuamgSW5b

@AmbassadorRice The issue isn't engagement. The issue is which countries you choose to engage with, and which history you choose to ignore.

@AmbassadorRice @USEmbCuba who could be bothered with US historical commitment to freedom? http://t.co/sNblHJbFkn

Kerry should alert Fidel Castro, because he still seems to be held back by history.
