As we reported previously, a mother who spotted her son among those taking part in riots in Baltimore smacked him upside the head and forced him away from the mayhem. The mother was widely praised for doing the right thing to protect her son and teach him a lesson.
You might have guessed that some progressives would find a negative way to spin that story.
Get a load of this steaming pile:
Why is America celebrating the beating of a black child? http://t.co/6rAlTUClRH via @WaPoThing
— The Washington Post (@washingtonpost) April 30, 2015
Ugh!

According to the byline, the article was written by author and adjunct professor of American history at American University Stacey Patton.
@mchastain81 @Matthops82 What? You're kidding, right? I mean, they think she should have let him riot??!

You just knew somebody would take that angle.
"The public shaming and devaluing of black children has a long heritage."
This article is a must read. @washingtonpost @WaPoThing

Maybe it is a “must read,” but only because there’s so much progressive idiocy with which to debunk:
@Matthops82 @GaltsGirl @mchastain81 The Washington Post misspelled "parenting".

It wasn't a beating she was trying to save her son from jail or death. @washingtonpost @WaPoThing

@washingtonpost is stupid for this. She's not beating an innocent child. She's keeping her child outta problems. https://t.co/mcfCSPWW8c

@LANURSE1 @Matthops82 @GaltsGirl @mchastain81 Liberals questioning this mom are the ones who need a hardcore spanking.

1) 16 Year old's aren't "Children"
2) Because it's what we would all do – white, black, Hispanic – in same situation https://t.co/wnSOAQWsvN— Marcus (@MarcusHUSA) April 30, 2015

@washingtonpost NO ONE is celebrating the beating. We're proud of a mom correcting an out of control kid @Matthops82 @GaltsGirl @mchastain81

This is the most backward thing I've ever read. You condemn a mom parenting her child? would you rather he rioted? https://t.co/He5NXZdnrZ

Let's not kid ourselves: 24/7 news cycle makes stories like this an inevitability. Gotta fill those empty spaces. https://t.co/2039OefAlu
