Wisconsin governor and potential 2016 GOP presidential candidate Scott Walker has an op-ed in the USA Today titled “I refuse to take the media’s bait.”
Politico’s Glenn Thrush read it this way:
The first refuge of politicians is blame the media… http://t.co/uijqGq90V5

Walker op-ed is definitional: one bad brush w/ national media and he goes into self-righteous self-protective crouch. http://t.co/uijqGq90V5

There’s a big difference between blaming the media and simply going around or over them:

@GlennThrush "I will always choose to focus on what matters to the American people, not what matters to the media." Gov. @ScottWalker

@GlennThrush From a friend: "Scott Walker had an entire "news" network attacking him for three years (MSNBC)"

Walker having won three elections in four years while standing up to the Big Labor machine and being victorious each time doesn’t much seem like “crouching,” but to each his own.
