Scott Walker got a standing ovation following a speech at the Iowa Freedom Summit. Walker’s speech included references to death threats that were made against his family:
Walker making the case that he’s a fighter: “My kids were targeted on Facebook”

Politico reporter Glenn Thrush seemingly made light of that in a tweet he subsequently deleted:
.@GlennThrush @lisalunu @ZekeJMiller It's okay. I saved it. pic.twitter.com/oQXLEP9VG9

Hypocrite @GlennThrush keepin' it classy. Attack Gov Walker's kids/wife=just fine. Criticize Obama kids clothes=FIRED @TwitchyTeam

Thrush claimed to be unaware that the tweet was in reference to death threats, though it’s common knowledge that Walker and his family have been frequent death threat targets.
@GlennThrush @ZekeJMiller That's how you respond to a pol getting death threats against wife and kids? You're one hatefilled asshole, man.

@lisalunu @ZekeJMiller didn't know they were death threats — just going by the tweet — will delete my tweet
— Glenn Thrush (@GlennThrush) January 24, 2015
Wasn’t aware Walker’s comment was in reference to death threats?

@TuPadreDice don't cover Wisconsin. almost every pol I've covered has gotten death threats – and most don't mention em at political events

@TuPadreDice hell yeah I'm ashamed –cos I went off a tweet and didn't realize there were death threats – it was dumb and I deleted.

Thrush didn’t seem to appreciate the following up:
