At a House hearing today, military vet Montel Williams urged President Obama to “make the call today” to the president of Mexico to work to arrange the release of Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, a U.S. Marine being held in Mexico.
After being asked if Obama would make a call on Tahmooressi’s behalf, Josh Earnest deflected big time:
Josh Earnest was asked why POTUS hasn't made a phone call on Tahmooressi case. Earnest said it is being handled through State Dept. channels

Apparently the State Department would better know if Obama plans to call the president of Mexico than Obama’s own spokesman.
Question to WH: Is this WH concerned about Sgt. Tahmooressi being in a Mexican prison w/ PTSD. WH: Ask the State Dept. about that guy

Maddening.

Boom:
Josh Earnest, after hearings on the hill said #Tahmooressi's case is up to @StateDept! Yet #Obama sent #101stAirborne to fight Ebola. DUH!

Amazingly (or maybe not so much), the department Josh Earnest referred reporters to for more information about the Sgt. Tahmooressi case weren’t even present at today’s hearing:
