In 2012, Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber was recorded saying states that didn’t establish their own exchanges would not receive federal subsidies under the Affordable Care Act. That claim falls in line with a recent court ruling which found that subsidies in the federal Obamacare exchange are illegal.
Gruber now claims that he made a “mistake” and misspoke at the time:
Jonathan Gruber tells TNR he doesn't believe what he said on Ocare exchanges in 2012: 'I was speaking off-the-cuff. It was just a mistake.'

Within the span of a week Democrats have blamed an unfavorable court ruling on a “typo” in the Obamacare bill, and one of its architects has claimed he misspoke about exchange subsidies. That’s a lot of “mistakes,” isn’t it?
Gruber claimed that he made a “speak-o,” which is apparently the verbal version of a typo. No, seriously, that’s what he said:
Gruber explains: "My subsequent statement was just a speak-o—you know, like a typo." http://t.co/VQJqq54qaY

Gruber et al. were up all night trying to forge a sophisticated explanation for that video, and the best they can do is “speak-o”

The left's narrative today that congress is just really really stupid puts lots of confidence in us letting them run healthcare
