As I noted in an earlier post, the talking points memo seemed to have gone out to all the Democrats and the media that Donald Trump's inauguration address was "dark" and "divisive." Yes, a new Golden Age … how dark. It's true that Trump listed a lot of Joe Biden's messes that he's going to be responsible for cleaning up. So I guess it would sound dark if you were soft on crime and for an open border. The majority of Americans aren't, and that's why he was inaugurated today.
The New York Times didn't go with "dark" — instead they went with "grim."
Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the U.S. In his address, he painted a grim portrait of a country on its knees that only he can revive and proclaimed that he would “put America first,” vowing to “rebalance” the scales of justice. https://t.co/wW4oh8E22V

He painted a hopeful portrait of a country free from all of Biden's policies that left it so grim.
Do they know that the speech was public and we could actually hear it ourselves? pic.twitter.com/ZENNCCrmBt

It was on every broadcast and cable news network. For those who were at work or otherwise away from a TV, at least they have the Times to interpret the speech for them.
Well, once again, your New York elite bubble has prevented you from seeing the world as it is - not as if I expected anything else from you.

Sounds like a real leader to me.

There was a lot of applause and standing ovations for such a grim speech.

Yeah that's exactly how it went...

If you believe a message of hope, unity, and wanting America to be in a golden age is grim then I guess so.

An America where there are only two genders
An America that is energy independent
An America that aggressively removes illegal immigrant gangs
An America that won't tolerate terrorism
I can see why it's grim to NYT readers
Do they know that we actually know Biden left us a grim America?

They are announcing that the same media lies will continue unabated for the next four years. They want to keep losing elections.

Yeah, the media is already condemning the Trump administration as "grim." Dark, divisive, and grim.
They know that their fellow libs hate Trump; won't allow themselves to watch; and will rely on the media to reconfirm their biases.

They said the same thing about his speech at Mt Rushmore a few years ago which was all about American exceptionalism. I was listening live and when it was over, I couldn’t believe how it was being reported in the mainstream media. Fake news will never change.

"America First" just seems to hit these people in a different way.
Be fair!

If you're a NYT reporter, you probably DID think the speech was grim!
😉😉😉
They still think they shape the narrative!

Trump wasn't the dictator he promised to be … and J.D. Vance's family wasn't weird at all.
"America's golden age begins now!" Sounds grim.

The headline is now an emotional crutch for leftists, it's not actually a description of what happened.

They lie, and describe what they want to be true, and then hug each other.
And go out in the woods and scream together.
Earlier, I wrote about how CNN's Jake Tapper seeing all of the tech bros sitting together meant that we were entering an era of misinformation. Yes, you can go on Elon Musk's X and watch the speech for yourself. Those who couldn't bear to watch it will have their priors confirmed by the Times.
Who are you going to believe, the exalted New York Times or your own lying eyes and ears?
