Right after Donald Trump was inaugurated in 2017, I remember doing several posts about editorials and op-eds in major newspapers arguing that maybe the First Amendment wasn't all it was cracked up to be, and maybe freedom of speech wasn't such a good thing. It was ironic that the mainstream media, which depends on the First Amendment to operate, suddenly decided that maybe speech was a little too free.
We dodged a bullet by not electing Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Harris told CNN's Jake Tapper that she was deeply concerned that social media users were "directly speaking to millions and millions of people without oversight.” And Walz made it clear that in his opinion free speech wasn't a guarantee that you could spread disinformation or hate speech. And who in their administration would be put in charge of overseeing social media and deciding what was disinformation? Fortunately, our Disinformation Governance Board was short-lived.
Elon Musk said in August that free speech was the bedrock of democracy. "The degree to which freedom of speech is being undermined around the world is extremely alarming," he said. I'm especially concerned about the United Kingdom's crackdown on free speech. You can go to prison for having a meme criticizing migrants on your phone. Check out this clown:
The UK has become completely totalitarian. This judge threw a 20 month sentence at someone for posting on social media that they didn’t want to see illegal aliens being given free stuff with their tax dollars.

… an immediate custodial sentence is unavoidable.”
The sentence would’ve been even longer if they pled not guilty.
So when Musk says they were going to destroy the Constitution, he wasn't wrong. Check out the headlines:

The New York Times: "The First Amendment Is Out of Control." Also the New York Times: "The Constitution is Sacred. Is It Also Dangerous?"
The answer to that second question is no. The Constitution is keeping judges from sending us to prison for social media posts. Democrats wanted to eliminate the filibuster, eliminate the Electoral College, pack the Supreme Court, and give Congress oversight of the Supreme Court. Yes, they were going to destroy the Constitution.
The Left will never stop. Eternal vigilance...

You can always 100% count on Democrats to do exactly what they accuse Donald Trump of. When they started saying Donald Trump was going to eliminate the Constitution I knew exactly what that really meant

We were one election away from losing everything
They were going to make America a commie county

They really were. Democrats think the government is there to control the population, which is why they're so opposed to Trump's plan to shrink it. Musk is being given a great opportunity with the Department of Government Efficiency. It's good to know that he realizes the stakes.
