David French Says It's Not Even Close to Acceptable to Say Trump Wasn't Referring to a Firing Squad

Twitchy

If there's one thing I love, it's being scolded by the New York Times evangelical Christian conservative columnist, David French, who balances out the otherwise completely liberal tilt of the paper. As I say all the time, French is quick to let people know they're doing Christianity all wrong. He doesn't bring in the Christianity label here in his column on what the media has decided was Donald Trump calling for Liz Cheney's execution in front of a firing squad. French reports that "Trump's defenders say he's not referring to a firing squad," leaving open the possibility that he was. Even if he wasn't calling for Cheney's execution, what he said was still far from acceptable … which is calling Cheney a warmonger who's happy to send other people's kids into combat from the comfort of her home.

… hostile fire, we’re confronting inexcusably malicious political language.

This after Democrats interspersed footage of Trump's Madison Square Garden rally with a pro-Nazi rally held there in 1939. If they were similar, then all of Trump's supporters are Nazis. Kamala Harris came right out on a CNN town hall and called Trump a fascist. And French is clutching his pearls over "inexcusably malicious political language."

No, as a Never Trumper, French stands for what the GOP should be, even as he casts his ballot for Harris.

Cheney is very dumb and should be put in front of a commission to answer for all of the January 6 evidence that her committee just happened to lose.

Harris is comfortably in bed with both Liz and Dick Cheney, who was considered Darth Vader to Chimpy McHitler.

It's perfectly clear what Trump meant unless you're incredibly stupid or willfully obtuse. We've heard nothing but "Trump is Hitler" for two weeks now and French is worried about "inexcusably malicious political language." That won't stop French from voting for Harris, though.
