Of course, you know by now that CBS' "60 Minutes" edited Kamala Harris' answers for broadcast, and they refuse to release a transcript of the full interview.
Our own Doug Powers did a post on "60 Minutes" earlier Wednesday. Former acting ICE Director Tom Homan claims that "60 Minutes" did its thing with his interview as well. Homan says discussions of suspected terrorists who have been arrested crossing the border were left on the cutting room floor, and they also left out the amount of fentanyl coming across and the 600 percent increase in sex trafficking.
Homan told Evening Edit that "60 Minutes" "wanted to show that this massive deportation operation was going to be inhumane. It was going to separate families. It's going to be, you know, akin to the Nazis."
This brings me to this other segment that "60 Minutes" ran on an illegal immigrant family that's so afraid of being deported that they did a network interview. They focused on the family member who's been protected by DACA — apparently for a long time. She was brought here as a child and is now a teacher.
“We are like a normal family, like anybody else, right? We go to church. We work, every day. We pay taxes,” says Monica Camacho Perez, who teaches English as a second language in Baltimore. (1/3) https://t.co/qzLARPq7Tl pic.twitter.com/BFj0Saghyu

Camacho Perez was brought to the U.S. as a child. She is protected from deportation by DACA. She says if her parents are deported, she’ll leave too: Her parents, she says, are “part of my American dream. And I can't imagine living here without them.” (2/3)

OK, bye.

How long have they been here illegally?
I get it … Donald Trump is talking about mass deportations, so "60 Minutes" tracks down "like a normal family" and does a puff piece. Meanwhile, they edit out all of Homan's conversation about border security and terror watch lists because their pre-written segment was meant to make deportation look inhumane.
I am not heartless toward immigrants, but we cannot define "normal family" as one who has broken the law and tells the press about what they've done without fear. https://t.co/udcZJ0REug

They FILE taxes. The ones who file under a TIN usually do so to commit tax fraud where they claim refundable tax credits for which they do not qualify. https://t.co/335NvJMDNs

Under whose Social Security number are they filing these taxes?
Deport them https://t.co/WOPfETpK2N

It gets us nowhere and the left still view us as Nazis
A process exists. People just don’t want to do the work.

This toxic empathy and attempted emotional manipulation no longer works on me.

Propaganda. Talk about the Venezuelan gangs taking over apartments

That's who Trump wants to deport. But Aurora, Colorado won't even admit it's a problem.
"Work and pay taxes" with whose stolen Social Security number? Whose identity is this criminal family destroying? How much restitution do they owe their American victims? Seems @60Minutes didn't ask, doesn't care.

Not deportation: family reunification in country of origin.

Operation Homecoming.
You should do a special on the Americans killed by illegals. Is that one you plan on running for the election?

I'm a legal immigrant.

I EARNED my citizenship.
It pisses me off that these freeloaders get for free what we worked ten years to gain.
It's a slap in the face to all Americans.
But you'll notice that the mainstream media always refers to Trump and Republicans as "anti-immigrant."
She has had plenty of time to become a citizen, but chose not to. The same with all the adults in the home. If you’re not a citizen, you’re an illegal. She should be forced to go back to her home country.

Leave and come back legally.

I'm way past falling for emotional manipulation by the mainstream press. I'm waiting for the piece on normal families who've had a family member killed by an illegal who came to America to escape their criminal record in their own country.
When @60Minutes highlights this tax-paying, empathetic family as those at risk of mass deportation after he is clear that they would deport only those previously deported, criminals guilty of repeated violent crimes - it’s that they know that their viewers will buy it

"60 Minutes" is propaganda just like all of CBS News.
