Greta Thunberg and John Harwood Join Mehdi Hasan's New Media Empire

MSNBC

Remember when they tried to cancel Substack because it was infested with conservatives?

We were warned that a "growing community of right-wing culture warriors and TERFs" were using Substack "to network and organize." Right-wing culture warriors like Bari Weiss and Glenn Greenwald. Former United States Minister of Truth Nina Jankowicz left Substack for Revue because "if you're a prominent spreader of Covid-19 misinfo, QAnon or white nationalism who wants to reach an audience (and be paid by them) without pesky content moderation, where do you go?" Substack.

But now all of the liberal journalists who've been unable to maintain employment now have newsletters on Substack. And now former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan is launching his own media empire, Zeteo, on Substack, where he'll feature pieces by Greta Thunberg and John Harwood.

Wow, that's quite a roster.

It's good that Hasan's opinions won't be quashed by the conservative suits that run MSNBC. Now he can tell us how he really feels, if you buy a subscription. And Harwood's moved from CNN to Zeteo. Now he can be himself.

Substack, the threat to journalism, is now home to Dan Rather and Mehdi Hasan. How things have changed.
