New Republic: Elon Musk Turning X Into Safe Space for Far-Right Propaganda

AP Photo/Chris Carlson, File

OK, so it's The New Republic, so anything to the right of Marxism is going to be labeled "far-right." Elon Musk, who just posted Sunday that "I voted 100% Dem until a few years ago," has purchased X and made it into a safe space for "far-right" conspiracy theories.

What has The New Republic so upset is one conspiracy theory — the great replacement — about which Musk tweeted a video. Here's that video again in case you missed it:

The New Republic calls that a "vile, toxic hate video." Too bad … the majority of Americans aren't happy with the invasion of illegal immigrants under the Biden administration … some 8 million so far.

The New Republic does just what the video says the Left will do: change the language and call anyone who disagrees with you a racist.

Greg Sargent writes:

In that interview, which triggered a public feud between the two men, [Don] Lemon confronted Musk over his embrace of great replacement theory. That prompted Musk to insist: “I don’t subscribe to that.” He continued: “I’m simply saying that there’s an incentive here” and noted that “illegal immigrants” have a strong bias toward Democrats, incentivizing the party’s lawmakers “to increase Democratic voters.”

Musk also said undocumented immigrants gravitate toward Democratic cities and states, inflating numbers counted in the U.S. census, boosting the party’s number of House members and Electoral College voters. Musk insisted: “You don’t need a conspiracy when you have basic incentives.”

Musk is playing a sleazy game. He’s drawing a largely artificial distinction between saying Democrats are conspiring to let in “illegals” and saying they merely have an incentive to do so.

As I ask all the time, name one thing President Joe Biden has done to stem the surge of illegal immigrants to the border that he encouraged during the primary debates. Anything. Any time a state like Texas tries to put up barriers to keep illegals out, the Biden administration files a lawsuit. So no, there's no "artificial" distinction — the border invasion is encouraged by Democrats. It's on purpose.

Like a lot of conspiracy theories, I don't see the lie in the video Musk posted. I believe if Biden is re-elected he'll import another 10 million illegals. He's already flying hundreds of thousands of them directly to the United States so they don't have to stand in long lines at the border. No, really:

OK, so Biden has done one thing about the border. He's flown immigrants directly into the country to lessen the lines at the border.

Look, Dallas is going to change all instances of "citizen" in the city charter to "residents" or "people."

Illegals can get driver's licenses, own firearms, and even vote in some local elections. Tell me there's no "path to citizenship" in mind.
