People who said that presidential candidate Ron DeSantis needed to step out of his bubble of right-wing media outlets and face unfriendly audiences have apparently never seen the Florida governor give a press conference. With perhaps one exception, Florida media is completely biased against DeSantis and is perhaps the most hostile audience he could speak to. These Floridians say they know what a dictator DeSantis is because they live in the hellscape that is Florida.
Florida TV station WESH 2 News went to work investigating people’s concerns with DeSantis’ use of a state plane.

"concerns"

Greg Fox reports:

Two taxpayer watchdog groups are raising concerns about the use of the state plane by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.
…
Shortly after speaking at the Florida Parent Educators Association in Orlando, DeSantis boarded the state’s $15 million jet, a Cessna Citation Latitude, and took off from Orlando back to Tallahassee.
We know this because WESH 2 Investigates has been tracking the plane, using publicly available online websites, since it was purchased in 2019 for the sole purpose of transporting the governor for “official” business.
“Official” business.
Buried down in the 21st paragraph… @GovRonDeSantis goes to this event (organized by the FPEA) every year, but now @GregFoxWESH believes it’s a problem?
Greg acknowledges in his email that the governor has gone to this event before.
Greg is just mad that he wasn’t invited. https://t.co/E9OhX50pj7 pic.twitter.com/3oDPCKlJHM

“Is the Governor using a taxpayer-funded plane to advance his presidential campaign?”
I love @TeamDeSantis.
These guys slap so hard, are absolutely fearless – and always bring the receipts.
The Florida Blueprint is a great policy model for the rest of the country.
But DeSantis team also has a great blueprint for any Republican campaign that wants to win. https://t.co/lwcLgs5mu3 pic.twitter.com/53CfF8WNPj

Get ready for these. They will come daily.

You never see these same people complain about Joe Biden flying home on the world’s most expensive plane every weekend.
But they’re sure quick to complain when the governor goes to speak to Florida’s homeschooling families about state education policy.

It’s amazing how they just CANNOT UNDERSTAND he’s the current governor. 😂

A good example of how media fabricate stories. The author is the source of the “concern” he implies he is merely investigating.

Everything DeSantis does now will be considered a “blurring of the lines” between governing and campaigning. The media didn’t seem as concerned about California Gov. Gavin Newsom flying all over the country to red states to which he’d banned state travel to campaign against DeSantis.
