The people of Chicago get what they voted for. After rioting in the streets over the weekend that saw two teenagers shot, Chicago Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson (let’s go Brandon!) reminded us that it does no good to “demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities.” The kids just need safe spaces in which to gather responsibly. So he didn’t condone the rioting, but …
Fox News is reporting that the clown car isn’t empty yet. State Sen. Robert Peters tweeted that what looked on video to be looting and rioting and setting cars on fire was actually “a mass protest against poverty and segregation.”
Since I’m a glutton for punishment and I’m sure I’m gonna get the most unhinged, crime weirdo replies but:
I would look at the behavior of young people as a political act and statement. It’s a mass protest against poverty and segregation.
Rest in peace to my mentions.

He knows he’s going to get destroyed in the replies but says it anyway. What the hell are “crime weirdos” anyway?
The unaffected and ineffective people are the ones who always condone, defend, and justify insolent behavior. When it affects them directly, that's when they cry out for justice. #clownworld #ChicagoRiots #Chicago

When will you be allowing yourself to receive the same “political act” in response?
— Doctor of Coding Thinkology (@bradcundiff) April 17, 2023
Committing crimes is not protesting. It doesn't fix social problems. It is breaking both God's command & the law. I pulled myself out of poverty & difficulty. Many I know did the same with hard work. Your tweet accomplishes nothing more than division which I suspect is your goal.

Beating a defenseless and innocent woman is now a political statement? That is an absolutely vile sentiment. Every person there should be put in jail for the rest of their lives. pic.twitter.com/GA5hJUxr8W

It was a domestic terrorist event

You assume all these kids, who all have social media devices, are poor. Segregation is done by the left, with their constant focus on race. Maybe focus on their actions. Arrest and charge them until they get the message that this behavior is unacceptable.

How long have Democrats run Chicago, sir?
— Wilberforce+ (@PaineInTheNeck) April 17, 2023
it's nice that you try to give actual meaning to this but it's none of that; it's fun for them, they like this, and they're never going to stop because this is what leftism does; it labels, weaponizes and rewards them.
These aren't children anymore, they're weaponry

Criminals are criminals and should be punished. Do we need to address root causes? Of course. But rioting, shooting people, setting cars on fire, breaking into the art museum? Jail time. All of them. Let’s not excuse breaking the law or it will continue happening.

In other words, you will always find a way to erase the idea of personal responsibility for one's actions by creating and sustaining a continued victim culture.

So you think it’s ok for teens to illegally possess firearms and shoot other teens all in the name of protest?
— 308Undertaker (@308Undertaker) April 17, 2023
"Crime weirdo"? What does that make you, a crime "enthusiast?
— Tom Phelan (@Falo98) April 16, 2023
Always excuses for these kinds of people when they act barbarous. What does it say about their “politics” when they’re expressed by beating a defensible woman half to death. What you’ve said, is a very evil thing – par for the course for Twitter tho
— Komesarj (@komesarj) April 17, 2023
I would look at 20 near-adult males beating one woman senseless as a REASON they and their families are in poverty and segregation.

Do you think promoting this behavior is fighting for public safety? pic.twitter.com/cFW5EELx8d
— Kruzer Kat (@KruzerKat1) April 17, 2023
He/him is an organizer, not a senator. And he wants to end cash bail, too, because that will help public safety.
