Nike throws some money at Dylan Mulvaney to dance around in a sports bra and leggings

We’re sure we’re at the point where you’re sick of hearing about Dylan Mulvaney, but keep in mind, this is the person President Joe Biden invited to the White House to talk about women’s and trans issues … and she hadn’t even reached Day 365 of being a girl yet. As you know, Bud Light sent Mulvaney a commemorative beer can with her face on it to commemorate reaching that 365-day milestone. And now Nike is jumping on the hype train, paying Mulvaney to be the face of its women’s sportswear.

What exactly is that sports bra holding up?

We guess this is just life in the age of the “social media influencer.” Mulvaney managed to assemble an audience of a gazillion people on TikTok by giving daily updates on life as a girl, and it looks like audience numbers are the only consideration to these companies. There’s no bad publicity, right? Actually, there is, and this is it.

It should be obvious to even Biden that Mulvaney acts like a caricature of a woman … or more accurately, a girl. But as someone noted above, this is the same company that paid Colin Kaepernick millions to be the face of its #JustDoIt campaign: “Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything. “Before the announcement, Nike had a net +69 favorable impression among consumers, it has now declined 34 points to +35 favorable.”

They just don’t care.
