On Friday, House Republicans passed the Parental Bill of Rights:
The @HouseGOP just passed the Parents’ Bill of Rights!
Parents should have the right to:
1. Know what their children are being taught.
2. Be heard.
3. See the school budget and spending.
4. Protect their child’s privacy.
5. Keep their children safe.— GOP (@GOP) March 24, 2023
As Twitchy reported, there was a Democrat freakout on the House floor, with members of Congress claiming that the bill “would result in “hate, bigotry, and yes, sometimes death of our students.” Rep. Hakeem Jeffries said the bill “has everything to do with jamming the extreme MAGA Republican ideology down the throats of the children and the parents.”
Breitbart’s Joel Pollack answered a question we had Thursday — what was the basis of Jeffries claim that extreme MAGA Republicans didn’t want students learning about the Holocaust?
The basis for @RepJeffries's absurd, offensive claim that Republicans don't want kids to learn about the Holocaust: a single TN school board removed "Maus" because of "swear words" and nudity, says the @nytimes. The board did not ban Holocaust education. https://t.co/eNietVqpKS

So who’s having the freakout, Aaron Rupar?
so much of this Republican freakout over PARENTS RIGHTS is just a reaction to the idea their kids might learn about something in school that pierces their own regressive worldview pic.twitter.com/4AGI1D99LZ

Instead of putting “parents’ rights” in scare quotes, he went ALL CAPS. And notice, once again, that the backward parents are the problem, always trying to raise their kids according to their “regressive worldview.”
Schools should be for teaching classic education. Not taking kids to readings of pornographic material.

This is such an absolutely 💩 take it’s worth retweeting with no added context.

Stop supporting perverts trying to have sex with children in schools. https://t.co/Fs3nJvTG2a

So do you want a middle school teacher teaching your daughter how to get butt f’d? How to give bj’s? I don’t think that is a teacher’s role. If a teacher HAS a role in the discussion it is to suggest wats to say “No”. https://t.co/ue5YXyNgtx

If you want your middle-school daughter to learn how to have anal sex the right way, just buy her a copy of Teen Vogue, which publishes its how-to guide on Twitter all the time.
Like how to use anonymous gay hook-up apps?

Yep. “This Book Is Gay,” aimed at a middle-school audience, teaches kids how to use hook-up apps like Grindr.
So if a teacher were to teach lessons from the Talmud, or the Dresden Codex, you'd have no objections?

Non-"progressive" is fine with almost everyone.
Leave our kids alone.

Children are not a possession of the state and parental rights are far more than a talking point

Ok, groomer.

So, it’s only Republican parents who want to empower themselves to be a part of their children’s public education, and Democrat parents are perfectly fine dropping off their kids at public school and knowing that they’ll learn the “right” things. That says a lot more about public schools than it does about Republican parents.
