This is the kind of thing that makes this editor just throw up his hands and give up. We’re just Twitchy … we’re not “real news” like MSNBC with pro anchors like Andrea Mitchell and layers and layers of fact-checkers. We did notice last week when Mitchell asked Vice President Kamala Harris about Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis saying “that slavery and the aftermath … should not be taught to …schoolchildren.” Of course, Harris didn’t push back on that lie but just rolled with it.
As Twitchy reported earlier, DeSantis press secretary Bryan Griffin let MSNBC and NBC News know that they’d be getting nothing from his office until Mitchell corrected her blatant lie. Well, several days later, Mitchell has “clarified” that she was “imprecise” with her language.
Once again, @mitchellreports is "imprecise" in her description because she relies on unnamed "historians and teachers."
Florida statute requires the teaching of slavery and its aftermath. We just know that "queer studies" has nothing to do with Jim Crow.https://t.co/tHKJW30L9l pic.twitter.com/h6l1RDsC4f

Just unbelievable. It took them four days and you know she was forced to say something.
Saying one was "imprecise," when what they said was a blatant lie, is not an apology.@MSNBC /@NBCNews should not be viewed as an objective media organization. Stop letting the corporate media be the gatekeepers of truth.https://t.co/rGj7uc8kEm

This is not good enough from her Jeremy. Complete embargo on NBC after this

Do not back down – this bullshit needs to end.

Andrea is past her prime

Jeremy, this is garbage. There was no apology out of her sneering mouth.

Is it wrong that I laughed at that word salad she just tossed out there? Whatever it was, it wasn't an apology.

MSNBC continues their impressive 'only being imprecise towards one party' streak. Will it ever be broken?
— fata4life (@elivenspire) February 22, 2023
Andrea, you were not imprecise; you were very precisely false. And your "apology" or "clarification" or whatever NBC's legal department told you to call it is its own travesty. NBC may now return to deceptively editing tapes and rigging trucks to explode, pending C&D letters.

She is such a piece of garbage
— Steph K (@Stephen20770029) February 22, 2023
She is pathetic.
Other professions have boards and governing bodies to prevent this sort of malpractice. If she were a lawyer playing this ‘fast and loose’ with rules of professional responsibility she’d be fined and or suspended.

But journalists insist they should be a protected class.
Screw her unnamed historians and teachers. Freeze them all out.
