Among Dr. Jill Biden's SOTU guests are a couple who couldn't get a life-saving abortion

As Twitchy reported, pro-abortion activists began circulating last summer a list of abortions that a woman must have or she will die. What followed was a lot of stories of how women would not be able to be treated for a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy, because each involved an “abortion.” This editor’s wife had a miscarriage — a blighted ovum that was never going to develop — and underwent a D&C, or dilation and curettage. That didn’t make it an abortion, though.

Among Dr. Jill Biden’s guests at the State of the Union Address is a Texas couple who suffered a miscarriage but couldn’t be treated because state law prohibited abortion.

Jezebel reports:

Tonight is the State of the Union Address, and among the two dozen guests First Lady Jill Biden will host in her viewing box are Josh and Amanda Eid Zurawski, a Texas couple who know the harms of abortion bans firsthand.

In August, Amanda’s water broke when she was 18 weeks pregnant, long before a fetus can survive outside the uterus. But doctors didn’t intervene in her miscarriage because the treatment is an abortion, which the state had outlawed. They sent her home to watch for signs of infection, including sepsis. Three days later her fever spiked to 103 degrees and the hospital decided she was now sick enough to be induced (which is considered an abortion when done before viability).

That’s unfortunate, but it sounds more like the doctors misunderstood the law.

The American Association of Pro-Life OBGYNs tweets:

How compassionate of Dr. Jill to highlight this story. Hey … why not invite the granddaughter your son’s stripper girlfriend decided not to abort? Oh, that’s right; you refuse to acknowledge her existence.
