It’s always appreciated when the Washington Post editorial board gives the Republican Party some good advice. Their hot tip? Take a serious look at Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan for the nomination in 2024. Sure, Hogan is a Republican whom Democrats can abide, but why him in particular? Why doesn’t WaPo push their real favorite, Liz Cheney? You know they don’t want an actual Republican to win in 2024, so what’s the point?
Shorter WaPo: "If Republicans ignore our circle jerking to 'West Wing' porn fantasies about Larry Hogan, that's an insult to circle jerks, 'The West Wing,' porn, and Larry Hogan." https://t.co/fK255VGyGs

The editorial board writes:
If Mr. Hogan is headed for political oblivion — and that remains an “if,” for he has been counted out prematurely before — that would be his party’s loss. He remains among the relatively few top-tier elected Republicans who can claim to hold a traditionally conservative, pro-business, anti-tax record untainted by dalliance with the “big lie” that voting fraud played a role in 2020 elections.
He’s traditionally conservative in that he pointed out there’s no constitutional right to go around without wearing a mask.

Wash Post Ed Board endorsing Larry Hogan will make him go from 3% to 0.03% in a primary.

WaPo day after GOP nominates him: Hogan worse than Trump
— mullen (@pmullen87) January 7, 2023
Of course if Hogan magically won the GOP nominee the Post would quickly pivot to explaining how he's worse than Trump

Maybe they're the ones playing 3D chess – ensuring Trump's nomination.

Republicans already tried picking liberals. It doesn’t work, Romney. GOP have won the economic debate. They just need to engage in the street fight.

Would rather have Hulk Hogan. At least he's pro-american.

Hogan would not win the R primary in MD. I doubt he'd win it in Iowa, either. Guy would get railroaded in the general harder than Romney in 2012, and he'd fight back less than Romney did.
Hogan is a completely unserious candidate.

The Washington Post should just STFU. They never met real Republicans out in America and they're not starting now.
Larry Hogan, GTFO.

I have family who lived in his state. He was awful as Maryland’s governor, but sure, run lockdown Larry and people like me in Iowa will have a good chuckle at his expense.

OK, it’ll be our loss.
