We see a lot of nasty tweets, obviously, but some of the worst are reserved for any thread on Ashli Babbitt. “Why didn’t she just comply with police officers?” critics ask, echoing criticism of the Black Lives Matter movement. Plus, plenty are downright giddy that she was shot and killed and for once find a reason to back the blue.
As we reported earlier today in a VIP post, a Bloomberg Business White House reporter on January 6 carried on the myth that Officer Brian Sicknick died in the Capitol riots — the New York Times and other outlets had run with the story that Sicknick had been bludgeoned to death with a fire extinguisher during the riots, while the medical examiner’s report determined he died the following day of natural causes.

Never mind President Joe Biden — he still believes his own son was killed in action in Iraq.
Not picked up by the mainstream media on January 6 was the arrest of Babbitt’s mother, who was accused of obstructing traffic during a memorial march and refusing to move to the sidewalk. Arrested for “jaywalking”? We all know why she was arrested.

As Micki Witthoeft, mother of Ashli Babbitt, was put into a United States Capitol Police vehicle in handcuffs, I asked if she had anything to say.
"Yeah, Capitol Police suck ass!" she replied.
Her and her supporters chanted "Ashli Babbitt! Ashli Babbitt!" before she was taken. pic.twitter.com/gAp1UtXUa1

Capitol Police say that Ashli Babbitt's mother, Micki Witthoeft, has been released and was given TWO CHARGES with a citation to appear in court: "§16.3.20 Obey An Order, as well as §16.3.40 Blocking And Obstructing Roadways." pic.twitter.com/SAx6YUIY7W

Again, the replies range from “Good!” to “She should have complied.”
