As Twitchy reported, if you search Wikipedia for “Thursday Night Massacre,” it will redirect you to its page on Twitter’s suspension of nine “journalists” (the quotation marks are for Aaron Rupar) who were allegedly linking to an account tracking the location of Musk’s private jet. The suspensions were to last for seven days but ended up being more like 48 hours after Musk took a poll asking if they should be reinstated. Days later, groups like the AFL-CIO, AFT, the Center for American Progress, GLAAD, and Media Matters all signed onto a statement demanding that the FTC investigate Twitter and Congress hold hearings about the suspensions.
The suspended journalists learned there was a “catch,” though — just as everyone else has had to do, they had to delete the offending tweets to be reinstated.
Corporate journalists are learning this for the first time because they had been immune, but Twitter, pre-Musk, always required deletion of offending tweets before returning.
None of these people gave a shit that the NY Post was locked out for 2 weeks before the election. https://t.co/7s9fk6LXsN

That's what angers them most: when they're subjected to the same set of rules as the serfs, peasants and independent journalists who they don't regard as legitimate despite having broken infinitely more important stories than they ever will. It's the loss of their caste status.

Precisely.

No special treatment for corpo journalists anymore

Hear that, crybabies?
And they discredited themselves , so trying to point the finger towards anyone else isn’t working , which infuriates them even more.

I’m convinced Elon runs on a Tesla battery like a real life Tony Stark. The man doesn’t sleep.

I am all for giving back social media to the public, going back to the roots, and working with other models to see that corporate media does not saturate social media, this is important now as it was in the past for many obvious reasons we see today.

Agreed! Rules for thee but none for me. Best epitomized by Taylor Lorenz. She could dox at will, but don't let ANYBODY say anything negative about her. Pathetic.

Yes… they have anointed themselves into the upper class through the defense of the political elite. Those that see them otherwise are the enemy and need to be removed and/or silenced. Yet, once there is complete control established, they will be the first to go…

Journalism is an activity, not a status

Exactly. Well well said. Caste system…bigotry incarnate…

These people aren’t journalists. To ignore the Hunter Biden laptop story, arguably the biggest scandal in US history, betrays these people for what they are. Establishment shills.

Not one of them cried foul when the New York Post was locked out of its account for refusing to delete its tweet about the Hunter Biden laptop story. The entire newspaper was prevented from posting for two weeks for posting a story that was 100 percent true — and all the other “journalists” just agreed it was Russian disinformation, the narrative the FBI was pushing Twitter to spread.
