Late Saturday night, a gunman walked into Colorado Springs LGBTQ nightclub “Club Q” and opened fire, killing five and injuring many others. NBC News senior reporter Brandy Zadrozny immediately went to Libs of TikTok when it came time to explain how such a horrific thing could happen:v
Hateful and violent online rhetoric targeting LGBTQ people has been ratcheting up for months. Now, just hours after a deadly mass shooting at #ClubQ, the worst of these hate accounts, LibsofTikTok is targeting another drag event in Colorado.

The Washington Free Beacon (and us too) reported that Zadrozny had laid the blame on Libs of TikTok and Tucker Carlson:
NBC News senior reporter @BrandyZadrozny blames @libsoftiktok and @TuckerCarlson for the mass shooting over the weekend
"It starts from some smaller accounts online like Libs of TikTok, it moves to the right-wing blogosphere, and then it ends up on Tucker Carlson." pic.twitter.com/opYn4ec0vA

Zadrozny says this is absolutely not true:
This absolutely not true and if you had a shred of legitimacy you’d delete and correct. I won’t hold my breath.

Please clarify then.

Thanks for clarifying that it is absolutely true. Now please, for the benefit of everybody, hold your breath.

Why bring up Libs of TikTok at all when discussing the mass shooting unless you thought there was a connection?
You, on camera with your own mouth, specifically named them as purveyors of hate. Not only is it true that you did, it's grotesque that you did. https://t.co/H8paYdxsyc

Oh, they are absolutely purveyors of hate. Source: https://t.co/GXcv4HKyfK
I did not "blame them for the mass shooting over the weekend." I described the environment in which hate crimes against LGBT folks have surged. It's subtle, maybe, but I believe in you.— Brandy Zadrozny (@BrandyZadrozny) November 21, 2022
Always the cat-lady hall monitors using such sleazy tactics.
“I didn’t blame them, I just said they created the environment because they denounce the sexualization of kids.”
Maybe it’s your making the sexualization of children an LGBT focus that creates the environment.

The Free Beacon is a news source and you absolutely named @libsoftiktok and Carlson as responsible parties. I'm sure for consistency's sake you'll assume culpability should anyone target them (and they have), right? https://t.co/rY5e7FoKnB

Zadrozny had turned her attention from defending critical race theory to calling Libs of TikTok a hate site, although we’ve never seen Libs of TikTok post anything but material that was already posted and involved children in some way.
So Libs of TikTok didn’t cause the shooting, it just created the environment in which a shooting like that could take place. Got it.
