Elon Musk just took the keys to the Twitter head office Friday, and by Saturday, Bloomberg’s Davey Alba reported that “in the wake of Elon Musk buying Twitter Inc., a tide of slurs and racist memes swelled on the platform, sparking concern that the site is entering an era of hateful speech.”
Wow, Musk is in charge for a day and already the social media platform is “roiling with hate speech.” Alba didn’t provide any specific examples, but just take his word for it.
We were assured earlier today that all political violence comes from the Right, but a woman going by the handle @Wendy4Biden (whose account no longer exists) tried to prove a point by praying all Donald Trump supporters got cancer, heart disease, and lung disease, and maybe got into some car accidents too. She can say that now that “free speech absolutist” Musk is in charge, right?
Weird thing to pray to God about. Heck, that’s not even the nastiest tweet we’ve seen today.
Hey @elonmusk
What we gonna do about this? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/wbbJa49gNB

Why does anyone need to do anything about it? Isn't this a right to say? It's poor form, but still.

Absolutely nothing. And Twitter will be better because of it. We (constitutionalists) won this battle.

Uh. exactly how is this different?

Let them say what they want. It's their right. We don't believe in taking away freedoms.

You were always allowed to say that.

We know, right? When was anyone even suspended for saying something like that about a conservative? There are protected classes on Twitter, like trans women, but conservatives were never among them.
