Maybe someone could point out to MSNBC host Chris Hayes that if the Biden administration isn’t doing its very best to tank the economy, they’re certainly hiding it well. From the moment Joe Biden took office, inflation started to rise and is now at a 40-year high. Biden addressed that by passing the “Inflation Reduction Act”: He told a John Fetterman rally in Pittsburgh that he’s spent “over a billion 200, a trillion, 200 billion dollars” on climate change. And it looks like Republicans are going to take back the House to reintroduce some sanity into the country’s spending.
Hayes sees that momentum going into the 2024 presidential election; Republicans, again in control of the pursestrings, will deliberately tank the economy going into the 2024 election to help their prospects. Wouldn’t you think that Republicans would try to appear competent once they’re in power?
This is blindingly obvious, but worth stating over and over. A GOP house majority would have every incentive to do whatever possible to make the US economy worse in the run-up to 2024. The only reason *not* to do that is some sense of public duty, and I'm not holding my breath.

Chris Hayes still wearing the tinfoil hat.
Ive advised GOP lawmakers & candidates on econ policy for 25 yrs, and been in the room when major econ strategies were crafted. Never once have I heard a lawmaker even hint of sabotaging the economy for political purposes. This is nuts. https://t.co/7qd7xQotoH

And what incentive caused a Democrat President and Congress to do that over the past two years?
Or are you implying Biden and Democrats didn't intend this, but were simply too competent and stupid to achieve what you think the GOP is competent enough to accomplish now? https://t.co/epz3ktjlOk

This is blindingly stupid. https://t.co/qEdQraa5sq

They are all laying the groundwork to blame the GOP for the Biden economy after the elections. https://t.co/4goWpjqAcd

"The GOP is going to run for reelection on a track record of purposefully trying to tank the economy after they win this election!" — Deep Thoughts with @ChrisLHayes. https://t.co/JAWdR9B6fJ

Laying the groundwork to blame Republicans for Biden's destruction of the US Economy. https://t.co/Szydy2P5gO

Goal of this cynically to whip his viewers into a frenzy? Or Chris genuinely doesn’t know any Republicans to chat with and see how off base he is? https://t.co/sMBcSYKt2h

One of many exhibits showing that Democrats don’t understand Republicans. Could not pass an ideological Turing test. https://t.co/sMBcSYKt2h

Wow, they’re really going with this as their final pitch? Any side who’s main argument in the last days running up to an election is “you think we’re bad, they’ll be worse!” is about to get hammered. https://t.co/IRU3gJg4PH

It's blindingly obvious that this is what Chris Hayes thinks Democrats were trying to do when the took the House majority under Trump in 2018. And he loved every second of it. https://t.co/z5ePuQOkpQ

Democrats are doing just fine ruining the economy and digging us into a hole for the ages https://t.co/EMMxkHCrS5

Ridiculous. If the GOP wanted to make the economy worse, they would have voted for Biden's legislation!
Yet another Hail Mary from the Left wing media! https://t.co/zr9bjNPC76

This is blindingly obvious, but a Democrat White House, Senate, and House have thrown us into a recession. Did they do it on purpose? Or are they just that fiscally incompetent? If Republicans can “sabotage” some of Biden’s huge spending packages, they can set the stage for a Republican president to take the reins and do things right.
Great minds:
KJP on what she thinks Republicans will do to the economy:
