Remember the fun we had with Billy Eichner when his gay rom-com “Bros” took in only $4.8 million in its opening weekend? He quickly blamed weirdos, homophobes, and “straight people in certain parts of the country” for his movie tanking.
Eichner should cheer up, because at least he’s not Rep. Cori Bush, whose first book, “The Forerunner,” sold a whopping 729 copies in its first week.
NEW from me:
Rep. Cori Bush's new book sells just 729 copies in its first week https://t.co/0TWdqjBllj

We wonder if it includes the story of the time she was shot at by white supremacists hiding behind a hill as they marched in Ferguson. Or the weekend she spent camped out on the Capitol steps to call for an extension to the eviction moratorium, with nothing to eat except the packs of Ruffles and Oreos dropped off by supporters. So stunning, so brave.

I wonder how much it costs Knopf to do a book. They have in Hardcover, Kindle and Audiobook. Are books like these printed on demand? Self publishing is very cheap, but add all the professional costs and infrastructure from Knopf and it is probably 6 digits. No idea just curious🙄

She’ll still somehow end up a millionaire. They probably gave her a million-dollar advance.

But she will somehow become a multimillionaire because she wrote a book.

Bingo.
She’s pathetic and so are her book sales.

Maybe if they included the crayons to color in it, sales would improve pic.twitter.com/DA4IEJHCOH

729 people will never be short an ash tray in their house.

That's 729 above expectations.

I’d bet she bought 700 of them herself

About as many votes as she deserves https://t.co/LpRK3wW8kY

She appeared on “The View” the day it went on sale to promote it — that had to account for a couple of copies.
She really needs to consult with the other members of The Squad, who’ve all found really good schemes to scam money from their campaign donors without having to write books.
