Editor’s note: Of course that headline was clickbait … Kurt was obviously the one doing the owning, as you’d suspect.

OK, “Gender Queer.” You’ve heard about it, and if you’ve seen it, you’ve seen it. If you haven’t, you might be wondering why some parents are calling it porn. It might be a great, touching memoir, but does it have to be in the school library, considering that there are graphic images of oral sex that American Principles had to blur in order to make their TV spot, because otherwise, no TV station would air it.
Michigan state Sen. Mallory McMorrow didn’t quite care for the ad imploring schools to stop grooming our children.
The gut response is to point out that I bet these people have no issues with the graphic content in the Bible and weren’t nearly as angry when Donald Trump said he could grab women by the pussy and have never had issue with their library having Fifty Shades of Grey. 1/ https://t.co/sPTLcnfmeY

Because let’s be honest, “graphic content” isn’t what this is about at all. It’s about creating fear. It’s about creating moral panic. It’s to shock you and make you so angry and fearful that you vote out of fear to protect what they want…2/

Which is to protect kids only if those kids are straight, white, and Christian. And even then, protect them from what? Not from gun violence, not from underfunded schools, not from the impacts of climate change or lack of healthcare… 3/

…from anyone else who doesn’t fit a narrow, hateful view of what’s acceptable. 4/

Didn’t we just hear this speech? Like, a hundred times? Did she miss anything? Gun violence, check; underfunded schools, check; climate change, check; health care, check. Plus she even managed to touch on white Christian nationalism. Wonder what party she’s in?
It’s to get you so angry and fearful that some “dark forces” (aka Democrats, teachers, public schools, colleges) exist solely to molest or indoctrinate your kids so you don’t even notice…they don’t care about you either. And they have no plans to actually make your life better.
— Mallory McMorrow (@MalloryMcMorrow) September 12, 2022
They’ll just blast content they claim to find objectionable from a book you’ve likely never heard of and may never read all over TV to get you angry.
— Mallory McMorrow (@MalloryMcMorrow) September 12, 2022
And they’ll paint anyone well who isn’t on their side: the side that wants to privatize education and destroy public schools, make it a crime to “say gay,” control women’s bodies…as “groomers.”
— Mallory McMorrow (@MalloryMcMorrow) September 12, 2022
Well take it from this so-called “groomer,” it’s bullshit.
There are more of us.
We see right through them.
And we will sure as hell show them in November. #HateWontWin
— Mallory McMorrow (@MalloryMcMorrow) September 12, 2022
“Hate won’t win.” Here’s Townhall’s Kurt Schlichter, whose coming in on the side against porn in schools.
No, you don't get to shove porn in our kids faces. https://t.co/2DyBrjRCfa
— Kurt Schlichter (@KurtSchlichter) September 12, 2022
Wait till you find out there’s actual porn at bookstores and even in the checkout lines at some grocery stores.
Seriously though, talk to your kids. Don’t want to read a book? Don’t read a book. It’s not that hard.
Meanwhile gun violence is now the #1 cause of death for kids.
— Mallory McMorrow (@MalloryMcMorrow) September 12, 2022
It is?
Savvy campaign strategist @pottsmark just retweeted some ridiculous Dem pol who was defending porn in public schools because adults can go get porn outside of public schools.
That's a great argument. Please run the campaigns of many Democrats.
— Kurt Schlichter (@KurtSchlichter) September 12, 2022
So, because you contend that "gun violence is now the #1 cause of death for kids" (we'll leave the accuracy of that assertion aside), it is okay to include books with pictures of oral sex in public school libraries?
Did I get your argument right? https://t.co/8nuFD1kfTC

Because bookstores & grocery stores are there to teach our children, right?
— Shadyhugs (@Shadyhugs) September 12, 2022
Since we're using that logic, let's build bath houses, x-rated theaters, and strip clubs in schools.
— 🤦 (@BeersNBullshit) September 12, 2022
Does anybody find the argument that because "Adult Bookstores" exist, we must put pr0n in elementary schools, to be at all compelling?
— Official Sidekick of John Wayne (@GrabbyHayes) September 12, 2022
We confess that we haven’t read all of “Gender Queer,” but it must be the most important book ever written seeing how eager some parents and politicians are to have it available in school libraries.
