Libs of TikTok isn’t doing anything on Twitter at the moment, as she’s suspended for hateful conduct — as the Washington Post’s Taylor Lorenz put it, she was terrorizing a children’s hospital by weaponizing her followers. Libs of TikTok is often cited as an anti-LGBTQ account, but she never reposts a video unless children are involved somehow, whether their teachers are “queering the classroom” or doctors are performing top surgeries on teens.
VICE has decided to get in on the act and expose how Libs of TikTok is a tool of Vladimir Putin, used to spread the Kremlin’s anti-LGBTQ disinformation.
Here's how LibsofTikTok is helping to supercharge Kremlin anti-LGBTQ disinformation https://t.co/ZcSNQGKsxZ

David Gilbert spends a lot of time talking about a fake leaflet:
Though [Chaya] Raichik never mentioned the leaflets, within days of the video being posted, major Russian disinformation networks on Telegram, some with hundreds of thousands of followers, began sharing it alongside the images of the fake leaflet. These networks suggested that the existence of the video proves the claims made in the pamphlet.
So Libs of TikTok never mentioned the leaflets that 90 percent of the story is about. What else does Gilbert have?
LibsofTikTok, the online persona of Brooklyn real estate agent Chaya Raichik, has been at the forefront of the right’s anti-LGBTQ campaign, targeting schools, hospitals, and libraries in recent months.
“It absolutely petrifies me that hostile foreign powers are listening in to the anti-gay culture wars that she is stoking,” Ernie Piper, a researcher at misinformation tracking group Logically who uncovered the Russian campaign, tweeted.
So Russian TV stations are picking up on the same videos that Libs of TikTok happens to be posting. So it’s not that Libs of TikTok is spreading Kremlin disinformation but instead allegedly giving Russia anti-LBGTQ material.

David, it is possible for certain domestic interests to be aligned (sometimes), and I hope you've considered the possibility that you're the one being played

So Libsoftiktok is to blame for the things that progressives post on social media? 🤔🤔
— Emmanuel Rincón (@EmmaRincon) August 30, 2022
Exactly, Twitter and tiktok are a safe place, free of judgment and ridicule. What those people post should only be viewed by "allies". 🙃

So there’s a huge piece about a fake leaflet that Libs of TikTok never mentioned. Sounds legit.
