As Twitchy reported Friday, author Salman Rushdie was stabbed as he was about to give a talk at the Chautauqua Institution in western New York State. Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini had issued a fatwa against Rushdie in 1989 after the publication of “The Satanic Verses.”
According to the Associated Press, state police say they have a suspect in custody, but the motive for the stabbing remains unclear.
Police identified the man who attacked author Salman Rushdie as Hadi Matar. He was arrested at the scene and was awaiting arraignment.

"The motive for the stabbing was unclear."
I think we all have a pretty good guess, though.

It is not unclear.

Hadi Matar's motives "unclear" after Rushdie has lived under a fatwa for decades, and the perpetrator is a Muslim who has supported the Iranian government and revolutionary guard (issued rushdie's fatwa) and other Shia extremism in social media.
Such big questions on motive🙄lol

Rushdie’s assailant is reportedly a 24 year old Shi’ite immigrant from South Lebanon by the name of Hadi Matar. His fake driving license carried the name Hassan Mughniyah (in honor of HASSAN nasrallah + imad MUGHNIYAH?). His FB page expresses love for the Islamic Republic. 👇 pic.twitter.com/rJhYFJ0CHu

Fake license dated May 2022. I'd think there might be a lot of interest in knowing when and how a terrorist came into the US…unless it was a recent border crossing in which case, if known by the FBI/current admin, we'll never know.

If only he'd attended a school board meeting, then the FBI might've known about him.

It’s all so shocking!!!

“known to FBI” in 3…2…1…

How long do you think until law enforcement uncovers a motive?
In the meantime, here’s Reuters reporting on how the stabbing has upended the tranquil Chautauqua Institution.
