As you know, Washington, D.C. has declared itself a sanctuary city for illegal immigrants. You probably also know that the governors of Texas and Arizona have been putting migrants on buses and dropping them off in Washington; Mayor Muriel Bowser declared a “humanitarian crisis” after 4,000 migrants had been dropped off in her sanctuary city, saying they were overwhelming homeless shelters. Bowser even asked for assistance from the National Guard to handle a tiny fraction of what small border towns have been dealing with for years.
Now D.C. Attorney General Karl Racine has announced a grant program for vulnerable migrants transported to D.C. As Bowser did, he declared the influx of migrants to the sanctuary city “a humanitarian crisis.”
NEW: Today, I’m announcing a grant program to provide immediate assistance to vulnerable migrants transported to DC.
The TX and AZ Governors’ decision to bus asylum-seeking migrants to the District is causing a humanitarian crisis, and we are answering the call for help.

Why do you sound so bitter about your city doing a fraction of what border towns handle every month? I thought you loved providing sanctuary? https://t.co/pdSbGszho6

I guess that @AGKarlRacine no longer believes that "diversity is our strength".
Perhaps because he never did. Like the rest of us never did.

Notice how suddenly EVERY border-crosser is an "asylum-seeking migrant?" They exploit this loophole with impunity.

They love providing sanctuary, in other people's communities. Just like homeless people, let them be, except where they live.

As an AG he should be happy. Haven't they always told us how sanctuary cities are much safer?

The pendulum swings back like a double-edged sword. The hypocrites are going nuts.

These people have absolutely no common sense or the ability to make reason of situations. None.

You’d likely do more for the migrants by speaking to your friends in the White House—they created the #BidenBorderCrisis and could end it if they so chose.

Thank you for admitting it's not a crisis until it affects you directly. The whole damn District has scoffed at the border states' pleas for help from a 2 yr. crushing wave of illegals, but a dozen busloads paralyzes the eastern seaboard. Bravo, sir. Bravo.

No, the bussing is in RESPONSE to a humanitarian crisis. That you are answering is definitely good and helpful. Possibly enough to realize that we should address the root causes of this humanitarian crisis.

Governors bussing migrants to DC isn't "causing" a humanitarian crisis.
They just moved the crisis closer to you, so you could see it better.

Some clown in the replies said busing migrants to D.C. and New York City was “inhumane.” Why? Aren’t they doing these migrants a favor by placing them in progressive cities?
