We really sort of despise Speaker Nancy Pelosi, but we did have to give her props the other day for touching down in Taiwan, under the threat of her plane being shot down by the Chinese. It was a strong move, undermined by Jack Kirby reminding the press corps that the Biden administration does not see Taiwan as an independent country.
This take is a couple of days old, but it’s still pretty hot. Human rights activist and blue check Ajamu Baraka thinks — and we might be misinterpreting here — Pelosi’s motivation in visiting Taiwan was to humiliate non-Europeans, e.g., the Chinese. This is a psychopathology of white supremacy that could very well have the United States into another war.
Psychologically it is important for the people we call white to assert dominance by attempting to humiliate non-Europeans. This reckless & irresponsible act by Pelosi is one of those exercises. Speaking of humiliating, someone actually wrote this and probably meant it. https://t.co/dRmfrlvm5y

Pelosi visits a spirited Asian democracy to show support for its people, leaders, and independence, and this dude turns that into "white supremacy." Unreal. https://t.co/dyp0ORuS1e

I didn't know the citizens of Taiwan were white. I thought they were Chinese people who don't want to be ruled by China.

Are you kidding me right now? She escaped her husband's scandal by going on an Asian tour so she could look strong for Dems for the midterms. Nothing to do with white supremacy. Everything to do with jerking around U.S. voters.

The psychopathology of this post is a lesson in bubble-ideology run amuck.

1. As a self-identifying white person I don't give a chocolate covered, deep fried fuck about dominating or humiliating anyone.
2. To make such generalizations about white people is patently racist.

Dumbest tweet this year. Congratulations

We love that he refers to Caucasians as “the people we call white.” We’re good with just “whites” … it’ll save you some space in your next tweet.
