If this post sounds familiar, that’s because it is. Back in April, Libs of TikTok posted video of an Oklahoma middle school teacher declaring, “If your parents don’t accept you for who you are, f*** them. I’m your parents now.”
Teachers on TikTok seem to have a real problem with parents. They’re worried that parents won’t accept their children being transgender. They set up transition closets so your transgender son can change into a dress for the school day without you knowing about it. They ask students what name they’d like to be called when they’re in school. When Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the Parental Rights in Education bill into law, he featured the mother of a 13-year-old who described how school officials had drawn up a “transition plan” for her child without her notification or input.
Here’s Libs of TikTok again with a sign informing students that if their parents don’t accept them for who they are, the teacher is now their mother.

#freemomhugs.
"I'm you're mom now"…I'm so thankful he's at the age now where I don't have to deal w/this kind of stuff with my kid. I don't like losing my cool and rarely do, but I would so lose it over this.

Why is the assumption that parents aren't accepting or unconditionally loving their kids? This is stated as if it is fact or everywhere you look. It is used as a reason to separate kids from their parents with no proof this is true.

We'll always get what we tolerate, until we stop tolerating it.

"I'll be you parent" "I won't be responsible for you financially or otherwise, I won't stick with you past this short period of your life. But alienate your self to your parents for my approval" "I swear you won't regret it"

Anytime adults are telling children to keep something from their parents there is malfeasance afoot

The purpose of state education is to supplant parents. The difference is that now they're open about it.

I think this angers me the most. A teacher most certainly can have a sign that says if you feel like talking I'm here. A teacher under no circumstances should ever circumvent a parent's authority. You can listen with a sympathetic ear. But never replace!

Teachers deep down have a hard on for wanting to matter. They want to be a hero and will sabotage families to get it

Teachers know that some parents aren’t going to teach their kindergarteners about gender identity, and that’s why it’s up to them to do it, so they don’t grow up “cisnormative.”
