NSFW: Libs of TikTok presents video from another 'family-friendly' drag show

It wasn’t that long ago that Libs of TikTok was suspended by Twitter for posting a “MEGA DRAG THREAD” listing a bunch of “family-friendly” drag shows being put on for Pride Month. The thread allegedly violated Twitter’s policy against “abusive behavior.” We’d say the ones guilty of abusive behavior were the organizers of these all-ages drag shows.

We don’t see a lot of kids in this video, thankfully, but the one little girl does get some instruction on slipping money to the performer.

Back in 2019, the Washington Post did a story on how drag queens had “snatched the spotlight” in the Trump era. The Post reported:

The act of dressing in drag has long been a political statement — it’s an act of rebellion against societal norms, and an art form that elevates the voices of disenfranchised communities. And as drag has attracted a new, mainstream audience — one that might see it purely as entertainment — there have been efforts to make the connection more overt.

“An art form that elevates the voices of disenfranchised communities.” Yeah, drag queens are so disenfranchised that Nancy Pelosi appears on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” to lavish praise on them.
