We’re sorry, but your question for the White House press secretary has to be in the form of a question. As Twitchy reported, Karine Jean-Pierre opened her first press briefing as press secretary by announcing that she’s a black, gay, immigrant woman, which we all already knew. She’s the first who checks all three boxes to hold her position — once the straight, white woman bailed for a gig at MSNBC. We’re going to go ahead and assume that “April” is April Ryan because the question — and make no mistake, Jean-Pierre said it was a great question — is so very much on-brand.
REPORTER: "So many communities are so proud of you…you're the first…what does that mean for the broader community, particularly Washington—white male dominated still even though we had the first black president…it's not window dressing. It's more than that." pic.twitter.com/UywUQB0M3C

Ryan is hearing “everywhere” how proud people are to have Jean-Pierre as White House press secretary. It’s all over social media. Jean-Pierre could have said, “It’s an honor” and left it at that, but she didn’t. But we’re just mansplaining.
“It’s not window dressing.”
Not a question.
“It’s more than that.”
Still not a question.
My 12 yr old stepdaughter is black/trans/bi. We're holding each other and weeping. So powerful.

The next hard-hitting question asked was what is her favorite ice cream flavor.

What’s the point of a press corp in the WH at this point?
