First, some news from the AP: A federal judge on Friday blocked part of an Alabama law that made it a felony to prescribe gender-affirming puberty blockers and hormones to transgender minors:
The Vulnerable Child Compassion and Protection Act made it a felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison, to prescribe or administer gender-affirming medication to transgender minors to help affirm their new gender identity. The judge left in place another part of the law that banned gender-affirming surgeries for transgender minors, which doctors had testified are not done on minors in Alabama. He also left in place a provision that requires counselors and other school officials to tell parents if a minor discloses that they think they are transgender.
So the ban on gender-affirming surgeries for minors stays in place. Libs of TikTok has found a surgeon who does these sorts of surgeries, and he suggests they might not be necessary if minors were given earlier treatment, such as puberty blockers and hormone therapy.

As Twitchy reported, President Joe Biden shot a video about gender-affirming actions supported by the administration as part of his Transgender Day of Visibility event, and Jen Psaki reiterated that gender-affirming medical care can be life-saving.

Oregon is a trash state. Sorry sane people who live there but you’re free to leave…… well, right now you’re free to leave 🤔

Hope this guy has good insurance – so many of these kids will normalise as they age and be very very angry about what has happened to them

@AmerMedicalAssn you paying attention or you just gonna let this harm be done?

Whenever someone starts by saying they're here "to speak some truths," you know they're not being truthful.

How is this not malpractice? I thought the entire world was on the same page that FGM was abhorrent. I understand he's talking about top surgeries but what's next?
— Mike Sachs (@MokeMaybe) May 13, 2022
This should be a criminal offense. Removing the healthy body parts of teenagers so they can pretend to be the opposite sex is utterly absurd.

First he says, "Here's some truths," but then careens off into "There's a false narrative."
Narrative be damned: performing irreversible surgery on a child for purely cosmetic reasons should be outlawed. The number of such surgeries is irrelevant.

He's clearly thinking about it logically, but only within his very restricted bubble.
The idea that some of them might later decide to NEVER modify their bodies is out of the box he's locked in.

So he's saying, "it's false that adolescents are getting top surgery but I mean like yeah, we're totally doing that… But, like, it's your fault cuz like we should have put them on hormone blockers when they were 12. "

“And there’s this false narrative that a lot of teenagers are having gender affirming surgery”…..”most of the teenagers that are having surgery” so not false then.
— Jill Brangan (@JillBrangan) May 13, 2022
Right? “There’s a false narrative that lots of teens are having gender affirming surgery, which they actually are, but that’s because you wouldn’t let us sterilize them as adolescents, so all those mastectomies on teens don’t actually count”
— Ellen Ripley #GetTheFOut (@Non_CompliantXX) May 14, 2022
There is not one shred of sound evidence to support the claim that “limited access” to “medical care” would prevent these surgeries. Talk about a false narrative…

Kids. Kids too young to get tattoos.
Kids.

“I wouldn’t need to chop off their breast if you hadn’t let them grow in the first place”
Can you imagine hearing yourself saying that, as a doctor?
— Luke S (@LukePSulz) May 13, 2022
The federal judge in Alabama seems to buy into the reasoning … go ahead and give minors puberty blockers and hormones, but surgery is a step too far. But if we’d just give them the puberty blockers early enough, they wouldn’t have breasts to remove.
