Principled Conservatives™ at The Lincoln Project come out in defense of Roe v. Wade

We’re shocked — SHOCKED! — that the principled conservatives who just couldn’t share a party with Donald Trump have released a statement rebuking Justice Samuel Alito for his leaked decision draft paving the way for a repeal of Roe v. Wade. We believe that the New York Times’ conservative columnist Bret Stephens might have been the first to publish “the conservative case for abortion,” but The Lincoln Project was right there.

But … we thought The Lincoln Project was made up of conservatives and former Republicans who left the party over Trump. But now they’re tying Trump’s “authoritarianism” with the repeal of Roe v. Wade. They say in their statement: “The Alito decision should be seen in the context of a broad authoritarian movement that has become the majority of the Republican Party. Their goal is to remove individual rights and freedoms that are the cornerstones of a modern civil society.” So when, exactly, did these grifters decide that abortion was a cornerstone of a modern, civil society?

There’s always a tweet:

Lincoln would have been pro-abortion on demand, we’re certain of it.
