This tweet’s been deleted, but it deserves more attention. In reality, Elon Musk has purchased Twitter, which is an online forum for posting short messages. Musk hasn’t even taken control of the company — they’re still having meetings and literally crying about it — but there’s a great fear among liberals that Musk is going to remove all protections, which means that Nazis will take over Twitter. Anti-racism educator Tim Wise warns that “we’re gonna have to deal with Nazis the way our grandparents did.” Actually, our grandfathers were shipped overseas to fight a world war, so we don’t think the comparison is apt.

"deal with Nazis the way our grandparents did…" like D-Day? Is he promoting to storm data centers or something? I am having trouble parsing that wall of text.

The irony that Tim doesn’t seem to understand is that the Nazis were the ones that were doing what they want to do by controlling the language and not allowing people to speak freely.

Yes because the Nazis were REALLY big on free speech..

The people he is calling Nazis (freedom loving Americans) are the children and grandchildren of the people who beat back the Nazis. The men who stormed the beaches of Normandy. Not only are we not Nazis, but you don’t even have the balls to storm my front door.

God forbid one might have to even acknowledge that there could be opposing viewpoints.

@timjacobwise can you elaborate on this?

Sounding kind of fascist isn't he?

One could argue Mr. Wise is trying to incite violence and is confused about the fact that Nazis were actually fascists and not at all fans of free speech.

Nazis didn't walk around hurting people's feelings and Nazis surely didn't let you just walk away.

This reminds us of the good old days when clowns like Chris Cuomo were comparing Antifa to the soldiers at Normandy. What an insult to the people who fought and died for real.
