Former President Barack Obama was in Chicago Wednesday at the University of Chicago’s “Disinformation and the Erosion of Democracy” conference, because we’ve been assured by the press and former intelligence officials that there’s nothing more dangerous to our democracy than disinformation. Forget Obama, though, because the highlight of the conference was a student asking Atlantic staff writer Anne Applebaum about the media’s coverup of the Hunter Biden laptop story, which has finally been confirmed by the New York Times and the Washington Post.
This was the story we were all told to ignore — NPR flat-out refused to even mention it in passing — because 50 former intelligence officials said it had all the hallmarks of Russian disinformation. We don’t think any of them have apologized.

A University of Chicago student asks a left wing reporter about the media cover up for Hunter Biden. Watch his question and watch her arrogant reaction. It perfectly encapsulates why so many distrust the media. pic.twitter.com/W8UXwmNKYn

Unbelievable.

The student should be writing for The Atlantic and Applebaum should return to college. Make sure she takes an ethics course.

Influence peddling is so disinteresting!

Totally “disinterested” or totally dismissive? I’m surprised she didn’t parrot the standard reply that it was a homophobic, racist and misogynistic question.

I’m not interested in it, so therefore you needn’t be concerned with it? Love the logic.

Unless, of course it was Trump's son's laptop. Then the media would have thought it was extremely important.

What an unbelievably stupid fucking answer. Hunter Biden’s foreign business deals with major geopolitical rivals are “irrelevant”?
— Geoffrey Ingersoll (@GPIngersoll) April 7, 2022
And that she didn’t find it interesting. Oddly… whoops. We are out of time.

She is dismissive of even the thought of it being important and has no desire to find out what "the big guy" was up to and profiting from and by who was he taking the money.
She knew it was real then and now and she does not care.
