Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the Parental Rights in Education bill into law Monday, sparking a new wave of outrage from the usual suspects. We’re interested in what Jen Psaki will have to say after calling the bill hateful and horrific. President Joe Biden did pitch in, although his tweet was rather wishy-washy; he didn’t even mention the bill, only that his administration would continue to fight for LGBTQI+ children.
Every student deserves to feel safe and welcome in the classroom. Our LGBTQI+ youth deserve to be affirmed and accepted just as they are. My Administration will continue to fight for dignity and opportunity for every student and family — in Florida and around the country.

Sound like one more person who hasn’t read the bill.
Oregon Gov. Kate Brown stepped up and shot a video to show how “horrified and outraged” she was to hear of the bill’s signing and pledged that Oregon would remain safe, inclusive, and welcoming (of Antifa).
In Oregon, we say gay.
I'm horrified and outraged by the anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation that was just signed in Florida, making schools a less safe space for LGBTQIA+ kids. Oregon will always be a safe, inclusive, and welcoming place — no matter one’s sexual orientation or identity. pic.twitter.com/x2I04Klo0M

Why does this 🤡 lady want government employees to talk about gender identity with 1st graders and hide that conversation from the parents?
Weirdo. https://t.co/HBpCg4lyZa

Seattle’s Jason Rantz can confirm that they do say “gay” in Oregon:
While FL protects kids from radical, left-wing lunacy, Pacific Northwest progressives continue to push it.
In the Edmonds School District, 7-year-olds are being told that gender doesn't exist — unless you want to have two genders, then it does, sorta.https://t.co/qBRep1rG0Q https://t.co/a3ML0xV8nw

Rantz writes:
The lesson plan also introduces “Jamie and Bubbie: A Book About People’s Pronouns (Jamie Is Jamie)” to students.
The book focuses on a woke child teaching a grandmother that you shouldn’t assume someone’s gender. Jamie is not presented with a gender. It is meant to introduce children “to the nonbinary experience, the use of gender-neutral pronouns, and how to respectfully use personal pronouns.” It even hopes children will “begin to explore their own feelings about gender identity.”
Though the book publisher says it’s meant for a second-grade reading level, the Edmonds School District uses it for students in the first grade. In a note to teachers, the publisher says the book “helps normalize the idea that gender identity is fluid.”
How does the legislation make schools “a less safe space,” unless you’re differentiating from the children’s home life, which isn’t a safe space and might introduce less accepting ideas?
I suppose we should thank her for letting everyone know.

Bottom line is they don’t trust the parents to discuss these things w their own children.
— Manny Guerrero (@MannyGu87399883) March 28, 2022
True, but it's appalling that they think that they should have the right to side-step the parents on this stuff. "We're educators and we know better than you," is the attitude they have.

Oregon standards explicitly start this in kindergarten.
— Daniel Theophanes (@kardianos) March 28, 2022
it's because they legitimately believe that kids have such strong sexual predilections from an early age that suppressing it IN ANY WAY leads to self harm
— The Poopsmith (@fecallurgist) March 28, 2022
But the bill doesn't suppress it. If it prohibited parents from discussing w/ their children, that would be correct. This just prohibits schools from doing so before certain age w/o parent notification. Big difference. But we know the far Left ignores nuance when it suits them

Ron DeSantis doesn't break a sweat worrying about the governor of Oregon because…well, he's governor of Florida and this woman is governor of…well, Oregon. What's Disney going to do, threaten to move to Portland? Hell no, so he tells Disney to pound sand and Disney does it.

1st graders aren’t thinking about sexual orientation…unless you’re grooming them. Florida’s legislation does nothing to harm those children regardless of their sexual orientation.

Well, opponents of Florida’s law seem to think it’s important to get the gender identity conversation started in kindergarten to make schools a “safe space” for LGBTQ children.
