While a lot of Democrats are still bitter that Merrick Garland wasn’t seated on the Supreme Court (Sen. Dick Durbin brought it up frequently this week), as Twitchy has reported, a lot of liberals are not glad that Garland didn’t make it to the Supreme Court, seeing how badly he’s failed in his job as attorney general. And by failed, we mean failed to prosecute Donald Trump for inciting the January 6 Capitol riots, also known as the “insurrection.” They can’t understand was Garland hasn’t put Trump in prison yet while prosecuting the smaller fish involved in the riots.
Adam Blickstein, formerly of the Defense Department, believes that an overlooked reason that President Joe Biden and the Democrats are underwater in the polls is that Trump has suffered zero consequences for four years of criminal behavior backed up with substantial evidence.
This piece makes the obvious point, the failure to prosecute Trump is political https://t.co/1yBhhtn1Oo If Garland wants to restore credibility to the Justice Department, he has make Trump pay for his crimes

An underrated reason why Biden & Dems are politically underwater is their voters being told for four years **with substantial evidence** that Trump was the most criminal person to ever be president yet there's been zero actual consequences https://t.co/0jkApTocHB

It’s funny, because none of the polls showing Biden’s approval in the upper 30s mentions Trump whatsoever. Inflation, gas prices, crime, the border … but not Trump. Maybe that’s why it’s such an “underrated” reason. In any case, Democrats should definitely pursue Trump’s prosecution right through the midterms.
Yes, scream “ORANGE MAN BAD” even louder. Surely that will solve the Democrats electoral woes. Go with that strategy, please.

I want to see a poll that shows voters' primary concern is jailing Trump. Because my guess is that outside of Twitter it would be way down on most people's lists.
— Charles Herold, Vaccinated Version (@cherold) March 26, 2022
For the vast majority of Americans, it wouldn't even be on the list.

Please please please keep pushing this idea

A certain subset of voters that are very loud on Twitter maybe.

He was impeached twice, and he was the first incumbent to lose reelection in 28 years.
And the idea that Democrats are struggling because they haven't spent enough time litigating Trump (as opposed to inflation, COVID, etc.) isn't grounded in any evidence, to put it politely. https://t.co/WrCTz0WUUB

Wait until they spend September and October yelling about the Jan 6 commission report once it's released, in order to lose 60 house seats in November

Gas is $5/gallon but the real issue is Dems aren’t talking about Trump enough
— matt (@amattchronism) March 26, 2022
Underrated or untrue? Because this is completely false. Trump spent 4 years being litigated against and went through 2 impeachments. The lack of consequences is directly a result of lack of evidence.

What evidence? And don't say RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA

Again, show us the poll where Trump even registers.
