Electric car salesman of the month Pete Buttigieg says 'we are in the middle of a long-term transformation'

The very first bit of this video is cut off, but it’s clear the question was about opening up more federal land to oil and natural gas drilling. On the Sunday shows, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that President Joe Biden would expand green energy to make us less dependent on foreign sources. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg got the same memo and turned that question about drilling on federal land to a sales pitch for electric cars and how awesome they are. “We are in the middle of a long-term transformation,” he explained to CBS News.

Last November, the Biden administration was begging OPEC+ to increase their output, and just last week, Democratic U.S. Rep. Brad Sherman pleaded for Saudi Arabia to up its oil output; “Otherwise, the blood of Ukrainians is also on Saudi Arabia’s hands.”

But when we finally have everyone in an electric car, all of these problems will go away.
