As Twitchy reported Monday, Neil Young posted a letter on his website demanding that music streaming service Spotify remove his music from the service because it also hosts Joe Rogan’s podcast, and Rogan was spreading “false information about vaccines.” “They can have Rogan or Young … not both,” he wrote. Spotify has agreed to Young’s terms and has been deleting his catalog.

I thought he sold the rights to his music.

Young has since deleted the letter from his website, and Donald Trump Jr. is pretty sure it’s because Young did sell the rights to his catalog.
So Neil Young pulled his letter to Spotify because it seems he doesn’t even own his music portfolio anymore & therefore has no control. That checks out because he was in our offices a decade ago trying to sell it. We passed! I know because I think I took this pic in DJTs office! pic.twitter.com/2cwYng8q0L

Aren’t the actual owners of the catalog objecting to Spotify kicking Neil Young music to the curb?

“Specifically, Rogan enjoys an average of over 11 million listeners per episode, with some hitting as high as 40 million, while Young attracts 6 million listeners per month in comparison.”

Time for me to subscribe to Spotify. Finally a company not caving to the cult.

Hope Neil Young will remember

Well that backfired.
Future historians will remain puzzled as to why a former champion of the progressive movement chose to destroy his waning career by advocating for the suppression of free speech.

We did it. We finally found the kryptonite for the boomers. It's Joe Rogan. We're free. https://t.co/IQfripbmlW

Slippery slope here. Next it’s Emerson Lake and Palmer, then Poco, then Grand Funk Railroad. Soon the playlists at Boomer weddings are nothing but Freebird over and over.

@joerogan Now please do something about the Eagles. You're our only hope.

It was never in question which man Spotify would pick if it were to entertain Young’s ultimatum.
