CNN medical analyst Dr. Leana Wen first gave the game away a couple of weeks ago when she admitted on air that cloth masks “are little more than facial decoration.” She walked it back a bit, saying she was only coming out in favor of mandating better masks: three-ply surgical masks at a minimum, with N95 or KN95 masks being preferred.
That message found its way to the Los Angeles Unified School District, which is reportedly mandating students to wear a non-cloth mask with a nose wire at all times. Someone whose glasses continually fogged up finally made the connection that breath was escaping those masks.

I’m glad we’re paying these board members so much money. Best and brightest.

We have officially reached the "There has to be a pony in there somewhere" phase of Newsom's administration.

Absolutely crazy.

Its like they aren't even paying attention. Maybe they will when we vote them out

But I thought cloth masks were effective in 2020. What happened?!?!??!😉🤨
— Sahand Rostami (@rostami_sahand) January 22, 2022
New York made 2-year-olds wear cloth masks.
No No No No. Stop this nonsense @LASchools. It’s not “mask harder” because the last ones didn’t work after to years. The virus is endemic, time to go the other direction.

They hate your kids. You protest. They double down. Get them out.
— Tim Rennick (@NectarFightBJJ) January 22, 2022
They simply *cannot* let go of masks. It's psychotic.

You know what to say about doing the same thing expecting different results

They are claiming their low positively rate is because of these insane measures 🙄
I’m sure it has nothing to do with young people having robust immune systems and most of the kids in LAUSD having natural immunity.— Oh, just one more thing (@momnicpag) January 22, 2022
Welcome to California, the self described model for the nation, which you all better hope to God isn’t true.
— Gabble Ratchet (@counter_pt) January 22, 2022
First LAUSD turned away unvaccinated children and teens, then they backtracked, and I'm supposed to believe they won't let kids that aren't wearing N95s into schools? Just another anti-science and politicized policy from bureaucrats in LA.
— Sovereign Voice (@SovereignVox84) January 22, 2022
Instead of celebrating we've gone over a year wearing a useless face decoration and the kids were fine, they double down on masking them harder. Fuck these people.
— Elk Grove Dad (@JerseyTaylorHam) January 22, 2022
The tweeter above was right — they’re never going to give up on masks, no matter what the science says, and no matter how schools are doing in red states that never had masking in the first place.
