As Twitchy reported earlier, Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki Monday the difference between President Donald Trump’s travel ban from China and President Joe Biden’s travel bans from Africa; why was one “xenophobic” and the other not?
Psaki did her own spinning, which The Recount says was in response to Doocy’s “bad-faith question.”
WH Press Sec. Psaki responds to Fox News’ Peter Doocy’s bad-faith question about travel restrictions:
“What the president was critical of was the way that the former president put out, I believe, a xenophobic tweet, and what he called the coronavirus and who he directed it at.” pic.twitter.com/O86c8GuaEg

It just so happened that Biden called out Trump’s record of xenophobia on Twitter immediately after Trump announced his travel ban from China; just a coincidence, certainly.

LOL imagine thinking you can get away with this:
Trump: Announces China travel restrictions.
Biden (within hours): That's racist and xenophobic!
Biden Months later: I wasn't talking about the travel restrictions!
Media: To be fair Biden could have been talking about anything. https://t.co/eCmIPTU5DS

Apparently thinking Psaki needed backup, White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates stepped in with a fact check from the time which proved that there was no record of Biden criticizing the decision.
Fact check from the time: "Trump’s portrayal of his China order isn’t accurate, and there’s no record of Biden specifically criticizing the decision." https://t.co/1Fo1LD8ELi https://t.co/EYye9VdxGa

Well, if Bloomberg says so. In February, though, Biden tore into Trump’s “African ban,” saying it was designed to make it harder for black and brown people to immigrate. So Trump’s ban was racist, and Biden’s is …?

Shocking how things like travel bans and Remain in Mexico policies became “Not Racist” overnight

Each time Biden implements a Trump policy that corp media called racist then, but deems necessary now, my disgust grows. To reconcile this, media must admit they fueled a white supremacy narrative and incited unrest to win an election. Or, they must deem Biden a white supremacist

You are really, REALLY bad at this. We all saw his tweets and heard what he said. You can’t spin this without looking like a moron.

He’s worse at it than Psaki — that’s why he’s deputy press secretary.
