I thought vandalizing statues was endorsed and encouraged by the government.
— Philip Morrill (@PHMorrill) October 28, 2021
Peaceful protest.

When did vandalizing statues become a crime? Based on summer of 2020, I thought it was allowed?
— Mack Williams (@IAmMackWilliams) October 28, 2021
I remember when vandalizing statues was cool. pic.twitter.com/QtkL3kACkx

Wait, I thought statues were fair game.
— Flurypd (@FluryPD) October 28, 2021
I thought statues were free game for vandalism?
— Bruce Wayne 🎃 (@Batmengineer) October 28, 2021
So it’s not cool now ?
— Matthew (@VividMiddle) October 28, 2021
I thought the rule was you could damage or destroy any statues that offended you. Is that not the rule?

I’m sure the task force designated to protecting monuments is working backwards and we should expect indictments for the destruction of statues of Saint Junípero Serra and Christopher Columbus to follow quickly. 🙄

But was it insured? According to Democrats all property damage is acceptable if it’s insured.

Didn’t know it was illegal to vandalize statutes

I thought vandalizing statues was brave and legal? Did something change?
— Brooding Pelican (@BroodingPelican) October 28, 2021
Why was anyone charged with vandalizing a statue? I thought it was legal to deface and tear down statues when we don’t agree with them?
— Vincerus (@Vincerus1) October 28, 2021
Just a peaceful protestor, move along
— basedblackman (@basedblackman1) October 28, 2021
Strange, in the light of latest events I thought vandalizing and even destroying statues is commendable and government actually comes and helps at times.
— Alex (@aleks_bax) October 28, 2021
So vandalizing statues is bad again?

The good news is that "it's just property."
— Mister Loyal (@MisterLoyalEsq) October 27, 2021
I think it’s a legitimate expression of protest.
— Doug Ronald 🇺🇸🗽🇮🇱🇺🇸🗽🇮🇱 (@dougbalt) October 28, 2021
I was reliably informed destruction of statutes was a legitimate form of protest

I was told this was not a crime.

This one’s a hate crime.
It's just a statue. Don't they have insurance?
