Tonight the Loudon County School Board in Virginia is having a meeting, and according to the agenda, more than 110 members of the public have signed up to speak:

Meanwhile, over at the Mankato Area Public Schools in Minnesota, the board is really clamping down on what parents are allowed to say and when they’re allowed to say it. Criticism of specific board members or school officials is off limits.
Outrageous: Minnesota school board prohibits parents from criticizing individual school officials and forces public commenters to reveal their home address—exposing them to potential harassment and property damage.pic.twitter.com/UnOPIqf7fp

A Minnesota school board forces parents to dox themselves before they can speak and bans criticism of specific board members: pic.twitter.com/Ogr2o1yEp3

This is disgusting. They're forcing citizens to doxx themselves in order to speak. And this in an environment where violence and harassment of normals who dissent is commonplace. This is meant to chill the ability to speak by placing citizens at direct risk of harassment. https://t.co/7vUiuN6EPA

As Twitchy reported last week, Connecticut Senate Democrats shared a cartoon making it clear how they view parents:

They ALL need to go and they will because parents have had enough.

Is there an "authoritarian gene" because they all look the same?

ANY business of a public school board is, in fact, a meeting that belongs to the public. For Pete's sake, remind them of this, people.
— Rich Saunders (@RichSau61052334) October 26, 2021
Sounds like the school board forgot who they work for.

We doubt this is the only school board that asks for speakers’ home addresses, just to ensure they’re actually in the school district. But the rest of these rules don’t seem very welcoming of public comment.
